American Dog Rescue Foundation is an all-volunteer organization for which Arthur underwrites administrative costs. That means 100% of ADR proceeds go to animal welfare and projects to save and protect animals.
Thus, contributors are assured their $5 and $10 donations, or $5,000 or $50,000 challenge grants will have maximum impact on the issues faced by ADR’s animal constituency. Most recently, the foundation’s areas of focus have been:
- Saving and expanding animal shelters
- Rescuing abandoned pets and live stock in the aftermath of recent disasters in Haiti, New Orleans and Joplin, MO.
- Providing special funding for specific animals in dire need, such as eye and heart surgeries that would be otherwise cost-prohibitive for the rescue organization or adoptive family involved.
- Closing down puppy mills nationwide
- Putting an end to the clubbing of baby seals for their pelts in Canada, Namibia, Greenland, Norway and Russia
- Saving the Canadian seal habitat, the loss of which is forcing females to abort their pups at sea
- Rescuing abandoned circus and theme park animals
- Cracking down on the inhumane practice of penning wild foxes and coyotes to be torn apart by hunting dogs
- Visiting and supporting sanctuaries and animal welfare organizations globally from China to South Africa
- Putting an end to dog fighting
- Helping Veterans with PTSD by connecting them with service dogs
- Putting an end to the horrific dog meat trade

paws2help
paws2help provides basic vet care to animals in need in West Palm Beach, Florida. These are animals who would otherwise not receive the care they need, based on their owners’ economic situations. In addition to their mobile vet clinics, paws2help also provides education and spay/neuter services. paws2help is a model for the expansion of low-cost veterinary services nationally and American Dog Rescue believes such a solution for care of all animals is long overdue and an idea whose time has come. Through initiatives like paws4vets, paws4prisons and many others, paws4people places more than 100 service dogs per year, free-of-charge with war veterans with PTSD and other ailments, as well as disabled young people. The organization also helps reduce recidivism rates in the prisons in which inmates are given the privilege of training service dogs. (Chairman of the Advisory Board)

Benjamin has been a leader across many of their programs from ending the annual slaughter of baby Harp seals to dozens of puppy mill busts, from Haitian earthquake relief to the passing of legislation to protect a variety of farm, domestic and wild animals, he, and we are in the forefront of HSUS’s work and accomplishments. No More Homeless Pets
NKUT is an initiative led by Best Friends Animal Society that brings together passionate individuals, city shelters, and an entire coalition of animal welfare organizations to end the killing of dogs and cats in shelters throughout the entire state of Utah by the year 2019. Their plan is straightforward: provide spay / neuter services where they are needed most so that fewer animals go into shelters, and increase adoptions so that more animals are placed into new homes. Step by critical step, NKUT believes together, we can bring the number of pets killed in Utah shelters to zero. (Former Board Member)
